Selkirk Weekend Advertiser

The Selkirk Weekend Advertiser is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the town and surrounds of Selkirk in the Scottish Borders.

It was established in 1993 by the merger of two earlier titles: the Selkirk Weekender, launched in 1986, and the much older Selkirk Saturday Advertiser, which was founded as The Saturday Advertiser in 1897 but changed title in 1946.

It’s published by the Tweeddale Press Group, a division of Edinburgh-based local and regional press giants Johnston Press. The editorial offices are in Selkirk (although they moved within the town in 2013) and are shared with Tweeddale Press’s other title for the area, the weekly broadsheet The Southern Reporter.

It comes out on Fridays.
