Campbeltown Courier

The Campbeltown Courier (“incorporating the Argyllshire Advertiser“, according to its masthead, although that’s a separate newspaper in the same series) is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold across the Kintyre peninsula from Tarbert southwards as well as on the islands of Islay, Jura and Gigha.

It was founded in 1873 as a four-page broadsheet. It’s published by Wyvex Media Ltd, a small independent publisher based in Oban and producing several newspapers for the West Coast. The editorial offices are in Campbeltown.

It comes out on Fridays. An e-edition’s also available by paid subscription.
