All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

The Arran Banner

The Arran Banner is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold primarily on the Isle of Arran (now in North Ayrshire, although historically it was part of the County of Bute) off the West Coast of Scotland, although several hundred copies are distributed widely across the mainland too.

It was founded in 1974. Since 2003 it’s been published by the Arran Banner Printing & Publishing Company, a branch of Oban-based Wyvex Media, which also publishes three other West Coast newspapers including The Oban Times and the Argyllshire Advertiser. The editorial offices are in Arran’s chief town, Brodick.

Unusually for a weekly, it comes out on Saturdays. An e-edition can also be bought on the website.
