The Leader
The Leader is a weekly freesheet tabloid distributed to homes in and around the County Derry town of Coleraine, including nearby Portrush, Portstewart and Ballymoney.
It was founded in 1984. It’s published by the Alpha Newspaper Group. Alpha Newspapers is based in Dungannon in Co. Tyrone and owned by Lord Kilclooney, who (as plain John Taylor) was formerly Ulster Unionist deputy leader and MP for the Westminster constituency of Strangford (and, previously, for the Stormont constituency of South Tyrone from 1965 to 1972).
It comes out on Fridays. An e-edition is also available free on the website.
