Northern Constitution

The Northern Constitution is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the town of Limavady in northern County Londonderry.

It claims to be one of Northern Ireland’s oldest and most respected titles, popular with families and farmers. It started out as the Coleraine Constitution in 1876, but switched to its present title in 1908.

Until 2010 there were three editions in the series: one each for Limavady, Coleraine and Magherafelt. As of 2012 only the Limavady edition remained, and its website was no longer being updated.

It’s published by Lord Kilclooney’s (former Ulster Unionist MP John Taylor’s) Alpha Newspaper Group, which is based in Dungannon. The main office for the series is in Limavady.

It’s published on Thursdays. An e-edition (by paid subscription) is also available.
