Newtownabbey Times

The Newtownabbey Times is a local edition of the weekly paid-for tabloid newspaper the Larne Times, sold in the New Town of Newtownabbey in County Antrim, including the towns and villages of Ballyclare, Glengormley, Monkstown, Mallusk, Ballyduff, Rathcoole and Whiteabbey.

It was founded in 1987 as the Newtownabbey Times and East Antrim Times and was based in Lurgan until 1990. It became simply the Newtownabbey Times in 2009.

Like its parent newspaper, it’s published by Morton Newspapers, a division of Johnston Press. Until recently it had its own editorial offices, which were in Glengormley, but it’s now moved to its parent newspaper’s offices in Larne.

It comes out on Fridays.
