All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Derry News

The Derry News is a tabloid, and one of those rare newspapers that’s published twice-weekly. It’s sold in and around the city of Derry in County Londonderry and nearby parts of Co. Donegal across the border in the Republic.

It was founded in February 2001. It’s published by Derry News Ltd, based in Derry. It changed hands in 2006 when a consortium led by The Irish News and including Letterkenny-based River Media bought the title from the McCarroll family.

There’s a partner weekly title for the county, the County Derry Post.

It comes out on Mondays and Thursdays. An e-edition’s available on the website – which, however, appears not to have been working since October 2012.
