York and Selby Star (defunct)

The York and Selby Star was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the City of York, the nearby town of Selby in North Yorkshire and surrounding villages.

It was formed by Newsquest in 2009 through the merger of the earlier York Star and Selby Star. The editorial offices were in York and were collocated with those of The Press, whose website it also shared.

It came out on Thursdays.

It was replaced in January 2011 by a York & District edition of the Advertiser series.
