The Thirsk Weekly News
is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in Thirsk, Sowerby and nearby villages in North Yorkshire
It was launched in July 2004 as a counterpart to The Easingwold Advertiser. It’s published and printed independently by family-owned company G H Smith & Son, from their offices in Easingwold.
Nominally, it comes out on Saturdays, but it actually appears in the shops on Wednesday evenings. The previous free archived e-editions were replaced at the beginning of 2013 by a paid-for service, which enabled the current week’s edition to be published online.
