Scarborough Evening News
The Scarborough Evening News is an evening tabloid newspaper serving the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough and the surrounding area, above all the 12-mile radius around Scarborough including the towns of Filey and Hunmanby.
It’s published by Yorkshire Regional Newspapers (part of the nationwide Johnston Press group) and is their flagship newspaper. As of early 2008 it was also the largest selling daily title on Yorkshire’s east coast.
It was first published in 1882. It bought out its rival, the six years older Scarborough Daily Post, in 1921. Up until 2006 the Evening News was still printed in the town.
Its sister publications in the Johnston Press website network are the Driffield Times and the Bridlington Free Press.
