The Pontefract & Castleford Express is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the West Yorkshire towns of Pontefract, Castleford, Knottingley and Featherstone in the City of Wakefield Metropolitan Borough.
It’s published by the Yorkshire Weekly Newspaper Group, part of the nationwide Johnston Press newspaper publishing house, and is part of a group headed by the Wakefield Express and also including the Hemsworth & South Elmsall Express. Its editorial offices are in Castleford, although there’s also an office in Pontefract.
It has a companion freesheet, a local edition of the Midweek Extra.
It comes out on Thursdays.
