Malton & Pickering Mercury

The Malton & Pickering Mercury is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the towns of Malton, Pickering and Norton in Ryedale District in eastern North Yorkshire.

It was launched in 1982 as the Ryedale Mercury as a spin-off of the old Scarborough Mercury (the Saturday edition of the Scarborough Evening News). It assumed its current title in 1999.

It’s published by Scarborough-based Yorkshire Regional Newspapers, which in turn is owned by the Johnston Press regional newspaper group. The editorial offices were in Malton until 2012, but have now been centralised in Scarborough.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
