The Examiner Weekly News
was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the town of Huddersfield and other towns and villages in the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees
, including Holmfirth, Kirkburton, Meltham, Marsden and Slaithwaite.
It was established in 1980 as the Huddersfield Weekly News (it was renamed in 2009) and was published by Trinity Mirror Huddersfield, a subsidiary of the nationwide Trinity Mirror Group, as a companion newspaper to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Trinity Mirror Huddersfield was formerly Examiner News & Info Services Ltd). The editorial offices were collocated with the Examiner‘s in Huddersfield.
It came out on Tuesdays.
It had no website of its own; the link below is to the Examiner‘s website.
It appears to have ceased publication in the second half of 2011.
