Examiner Weekly News (defunct)

The Examiner Weekly News was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the town of Huddersfield and other towns and villages in the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, including Holmfirth, Kirkburton, Meltham, Marsden and Slaithwaite.

It was established in 1980 as the Huddersfield Weekly News (it was renamed in 2009) and was published by Trinity Mirror Huddersfield, a subsidiary of the nationwide Trinity Mirror Group, as a companion newspaper to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner (Trinity Mirror Huddersfield was formerly Examiner News & Info Services Ltd). The editorial offices were collocated with the Examiner‘s in Huddersfield.

It came out on Tuesdays.

It had no website of its own; the link below is to the Examiner‘s website.

It appears to have ceased publication in the second half of 2011.
