East Riding Mail

The East Riding Mail is a sub-edition of the daily tabloid newspaper the Hull Daily Mail sold across the wider East Riding of Yorkshire, covering the whole of East Yorkshire including the towns of Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, Goole, Hornsea, Market Weighton and Withernsea.

It’s published by Hull-based Mail News & Media Ltd, the local arm of Northcliffe Media, which in turn was the regional newspaper division of the Daily Mail & General Trust until late 2012 but is now the main component of the new Local World media group. The editorial offices are in Kingston-upon-Hull.

An associated Advertiser series of weekly freesheet tabloids, covering West and East Hull, Beverley, Holderness and other parts of the East Riding, has now been reduced to just two titles: the Hull & East Riding Advertiser and the Beverley Advertiser.

As with Northcliffe’s other newspapers, it lost its own web presence when its website at thisiseastriding.co.uk became a local portal site, for which the Mail provided news stories. However, new owners Local World announced in April 2013 that its newspapers would be getting “publisher-branded” sites to run alongside the local portals; the Mail was one of the first to receive one.
