Tamworth Herald Leader (defunct)

The Tamworth Herald Leader was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the South East Staffordshire town of Tamworth and the surrounding villages including Fazeley, Polesworth and Dordon.

It was founded in 1979 as the Tamworth Herald Extra and became the Tamworth Herald Leader in 2001.

It was the freesheet companion of the Tamworth Herald (and shared the same website). Like its parent newspaper, it was published by Central Independent Newspapers, which despite the name is a subsidiary of Northcliffe Media, until 2012 the regional publishing arm of the Daily Mail & General Trust.

It came out on Wednesdays. It appears to have ceased publication some time in 2010, possibly earlier.
