The Sentinel
The Sentinel is an evening tabloid newspaper published from Stoke-on-Trent and serving much of North Staffordshire and parts of southern Cheshire.
It’s published by Staffordshire Sentinel News and Media, a branch of the Daily Mail and General Trust’s Northcliffe Media division.
It was formerly titled the Evening Sentinel, and before that the North Staffordshire Evening Sentinel. There’s a Sunday edition called Sentinel Sunday, originally a broadsheet but available in tabloid format since 2006.
A popular feature since 1986 has been the cartoon strip “May un Mar Lady” by Dave Follows. Follows died in 2006 aged 62, but the strip is being re-run in its entirety.
