Leamington Observer

The Leamington Observer (“incorporating Kenilworth, Southam, Warwick and Whitnash”, according to its masthead) is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the town of Royal Leamington Spa and the neighbouring towns of Warwick, Kenilworth, Southam and (since March 2013) Whitnash in southern Warwickshire.

It was originally published as the Royal Leamington Spa Observer by Observer Standard Newspapers, an independent newspaper publishing group set up by Chris and Pat Bullivant in 1989 and responsible for 18 titles, mostly in the Midlands. OSN went into administration in March 2009, but the Bullivants were able to retain the bulk of their newspapers through a new company, Bullivant Media Ltd, which now controls the newspaper.

From 1999 to 2002 it was simply The Observer. It took on its present title thereafter.

The editorial offices are in Leamington Spa. There are four editions covering Leamington, Kenilworth, Southam and Warwick.

It comes out on Thursdays. An e-edition’s also available free on the website.
