Weymouth & Portland Advertiser
The Weymouth & Portland Advertiser (formerly the Weymouth, Dorchester & Portland Advertiser – a separate edition for Dorchester was launched in June 2010) is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in southern Dorset, taking in the town of Weymouth and villages in an area bounded by Southwell to the south, West Bexington to the west, Up Sydling to the north and West Chaldon to the east.
It was originally founded in 1891. It’s currently published by Newsquest (Southern), part of the Newsquest media group, and is a companion to the paid-for weekly tabloid the Dorset Echo. The editorial offices are in Weymouth.
It has no website of its own; its Internet presence is through the Echo‘s website.
It comes out on Fridays.
