Dawlish Gazette
The Dawlish Gazette is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the town of Dawlish on the Mid Devon coast and along the west bank of the Exe estuary as far upstream as Exminster.
It was founded in 1897 by printer John Eunson and is published by Dawlish Newspapers Ltd. Despite changing hands several times it’s remained a family-owned newspaper ever since, although since 1987 the family concerned has been that of Sir Ray Tindle, proprietor of the Tindle Newspapers group. The editorial offices are in Dawlish but are separate from those of another title in the Tindle stable, the Dawlish Post, which is published by Devon & Cornwall Newspapers.
Since 1983 there’s been an affiliated freesheet for nearby Teignmouth, the Teignmouth News.
It comes out on Wednesdays. An e-edition’s available by paid subscription on the website.
