It was founded in 2007. It was published by KOS Media, who also publish the Kent on Sunday and Kent on Saturday weeklies for the whole of the county of Kent. The main editorial offices were in Smeeth near Ashford.
In June 2010 the Norwich-based Archant group acquired KOS Media outright, having had a minority shareholding since 2005.
Originally there were two editions:
- West (for Sittingbourne and the Isle of Sheppey)
- East (for Faversham and district)
In mid-April 2011 the two editions were consolidated into a single one for the whole circulation area.
It came out on Wednesdays. It was also available as a free e-edition online from the website or by email; from January 2011 only the e-edition was available. It ceased publication altogether in December 2012, although the website’s still updated.
