Thanet Adscene (defunct)
The Thanet Adscene was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the Isle of Thanet in the north-eastern corner of Kent, including the towns of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.
It was published by Kent Regional News & Media (formerly Kent Regional Newspapers), which has been a branch of the Daily Mail & General Trust’s regional newspaper publishing division, Northcliffe Media, ever since it was acquired from Trinity Mirror in 2007. The editorial offices were in Margate and collocated with the Isle of Thanet Gazette, which moved in January 2009 from the offices in Union Row which it had occupied for the previous 110 years.
It was a companion to KRN’s two paid weekly titles for Thanet, the Gazette and the Thanet Times.
It came out on Thursdays.
It was merged into the Thanet Times – which became mostly a freesheet – in October 2009.
