Surrey & Hants Star Courier

The Surrey & Hants Star Courier is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in north-eastern Hampshire, western Surrey and south-eastern Berkshire.

It was founded in 1977 as the Surrey & Hants Star, but merged in 2008 with three other local weekly freesheets founded in 1995 – the Aldershot and Farnborough Courier, Camberley and Yateley Courier and Fleet and Hart Courier – to form the Surrey & Hants Star Courier.

It’s published by Surrey & Berkshire Media, part of Trinity Mirror Southern since they acquired it from the Guardian Media Group in March 2010.

It’s a companion to S&BM’s paid-for title for the area, the Aldershot News & Mail and covers essentially the same footprint, although Crowthorne to the north and Farnham to the south are omitted (which still leaves Aldershot, Camberley, Farnborough, Fleet, Sandhurst and Yateley). It shares the News & Mail‘s editorial offices (in Guildford) and has its web presence through S&B Media’s gethampshire.co.uk website (although the dedicated Star Courier section on that website has now been withdrawn).

It comes out on Thursdays. It appears in a North and a South edition.
