The News
The News is a daily newspaper for Portsmouth, its neighbouring towns and surrounding districts including West Sussex, East Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
It was formerly the Portsmouth Evening News and is often still referred to colloquially by that name, although its official title is simply The News. As of November 2007 it claimed to be the South’s top-selling daily paper.
It’s a tabloid. It’s published by Portsmouth Printing & Publishing Ltd, whose parent company is Johnston Press.
It appears in four geographical editions: Central South; City Final; Fareham & Gosport; Havant & Waterlooville. There’s also a sports special, the Sports Mail.
