All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Milton Keynes Citizen

The Milton Keynes Citizen is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the town (and much of the unitary authority) of Milton Keynes, including Newport Pagnell, Bletchley, Olney, Stony Stratford and Woburn Sands, in what used to be north-east Buckinghamshire.

It was founded in 1981. It’s published by Premier Newspapers Ltd, part of the Johnston Press nationwide group of regional newspaper publishers. The editorial offices are in Bletchley.

Although it’s a freesheet, a tiny proportion of the print run (fewer than a thousand copies) is sold.

A local sub-edition for Leighton Buzzard and Linslade, the Leighton & Linslade Citizen, appears to have ceased publication in July 2012.

It comes out on Thursdays. There’s also an e-edition available free of charge on the website.
