Gravesend & Dartford Messenger Extra

The Gravesend & Dartford Messenger Extra is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed through pick-up points, brand-to-hand distribution and direct to homes in the Boroughs of Gravesham and Dartford in north-western Kent, including the towns named in the title as well as Northfleet, Hextable, Meopham and Greenhithe.

It was founded when two earlier separate newspapers – the Gravesend Extra for Gravesend and the Dartford Extra for Dartford and Swanley – ceased publication in May 2009 and were merged to form the Gravesend, Dartford and Swanley Messenger Extra. Swanley was dropped from the title in 2013.

It’s published by the KM Group (formerly the Kent Messenger Group) and is a companion to their twice-weekly paid titles for the area, the Gravesend Messenger and Dartford Messenger (which are local editions of the Kent Messenger). The editorial offices are collocated with the Gravesend Messenger‘s in Gravesend, and the Extra shares its website.

It comes out on Fridays. It’s also available online as an e-edition:
