All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

getreading

getreading is a primarily freesheet weekly tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the town of Reading in Berkshire. (A small proportion of each issue is sold through the news trade.)

It was founded in May 2009, following a shake-up of Surrey & Berkshire Media in which the Reading Evening Post ceased publication and its weekly freesheet companion, the Reading Post, became a paid-for title; getreading, which had been the name of the two papers’ website, was taken as the name of the new freesheet newspaper. The editorial offices are in Reading.

The Guardian Media Group sold Surrey & Berkshire Media to Trinity Mirror in March 2010.

getreading is published on Fridays.
