Brighton & Hove Leader

The Brighton & Hove Leader is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes across the City of Brighton & Hove, the suburbs of Southwick and Portslade-by-Sea, and outlying villages including Patcham, Rottingdean, Woodingdean and Saltdean.

It was founded in 1981 as a relaunch of a freesheet started earlier the same year, the Advertiser. It incorporated the 1970-founded Brighton & Hove Gazette & Herald in 1985 and was briefly known as the Brighton & Hove Leader and Brighton & Hove Gazette & Herald, before resuming its earlier (and present) title.

It’s now published by Newsquest (Sussex) as a companion to its paid-for evening newspaper for Brighton, The Argus, whose editorial offices in Brighton it shares.

It comes out on Thursdays. An e-edition’s also available free via The Argus‘s website.
