The Wigan Reporter

The Wigan Reporter is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the Greater Manchester (formerly Lancashire) town of Wigan and the surrounding Metropolitan Borough, including the towns of Skelmersdale, Hindley and Ashton-in-Makerfield.

It was founded in 1978 as a freesheet companion to the Wigan Evening Post and the Wigan Observer, with which it shares a website. Like them, it’s published by Lancashire Publications, based in Wigan, who are part of Johnston Press.

A sub-edition, The Leigh Reporter, covers Leigh.

It comes out on Fridays.
