Wigan Courier
The Wigan Courier is a freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to 32,000 homes (as of February 2008) throughout the Wigan area, including Standish, Shevington and Winstanley.
It’s an independently published newspaper; its offices are in Standish. Perhaps uniquely among British newspapers, it’s published every three weeks.
It bills itself as “the all colour good news newspaper for Wiganers” and “the antidote to the depression, bad news and negativity of traditional regional newspapers”. (Former BBC newsreader Martyn Lewis would be proud.)
