Runcorn & Widnes Herald & Post (defunct)

The Runcorn & Widnes Herald & Post was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in and around the towns of Runcorn and Widnes in the Borough of Halton in North West Cheshire, including the nearby villages of Frodsham, Helsby, Ditton and Palacefields.

It was published by Trinity Mirror North West & North Wales Ltd as a companion to the paid-for weekly tabloids the Runcorn Weekly News and the Widnes Weekly News. It had no website of its own; its online presence was through the paid-for newspapers’ website.

It came out on Fridays.

It was launched in 1989 as a replacement for the Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News Extra founded in 1984. It was itself replaced by the Weekly News Xtra in 2009.
