Ormskirk & West Lancashire Champion
The Ormskirk & West Lancashire Champion is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed free to homes in and around the town of Ormskirk in the district of West Lancashire, including Burscough, Aughton, Bescar and Rufford.
It was founded in 1994 as The Ormskirk Champion, but changed to its existing title the following year. It’s published by Waypride Ltd, trading as the Champion Media Group. It’s one of the oldest members of a series of Champion newspapers distributed in the area and led by the Southport Champion. All share a single website (which received a facelift in 2011) and an editorial office in Southport.
It comes out on Wednesdays. An e-edition’s also available free on the website.
