Ormskirk Advertiser

The Ormskirk Advertiser is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the Lancashire town of Ormskirk and the surrounding area, including the entire Borough of West Lancashire (notably the towns of Skelmersdale and Maghull) and large parts of the Merseyside Metropolitan Borough of Sefton around Southport.

It was founded in 1853. It’s published by Sefton & West Lancashire Mediamix, part of Trinity Mirror North West & Wales’s Merseyside division. The editorial offices are in Southport.

There’s a separate edition for Skelmersdale, the Skelmersdale Advertiser. Both share the same website; the link below is to the Ormskirk news pages. There used also to be a freesheet companion, the Midweek Advertiser, but that closed in October 2008.

It comes out on Thursdays.
