Middlewich Guardian

The Middlewich Guardian is one of three web-based identities of the Northwich, Winsford & Middlewich Guardian, a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the mid-Cheshire market towns of Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich.

It’s published by Newsquest (North West) as part of its Mid Cheshire Guardian group, based in Northwich.

The Middlewich Guardian was founded in 1946 as a spin-off edition of the earlier Winsford & Middlewich Guardian, at the same time as the Winsford Guardian. In 1993 the two titles were merged once more; the Middlewich Guardian regained its separate identity again in 2002 before a remerger in 2009 and a subsequent merger with the Northwich Guardian in July 2013. Nevertheless, it retains a separate digital identity through its website and social media presences, although the e-edition (available by paid subscription) was discontinued after the latest merger.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
