Liverpool Echo
The Liverpool Echo is currently (October 2007) the United Kingdom’s second-biggest selling evening newspaper, after the Evening Standard. It’s a tabloid.
The Echo was founded in 1879 as a cheaper evening sister paper to the Liverpool Daily Post. The original publishing company, Liverpool Daily Post & Echo Ltd, was relaunched as Trinity Holdings plc in 1985 and merged with Mirror Group Newspapers in 1999 to form Trinity Mirror, the UK’s largest newspaper publisher.
