Teesdale Mercury
The Teesdale Mercury is a weekly broadsheet newspaper sold in Teesdale in County Durham as well as in the towns of Richmond, Darlington and Bishop Auckland.
It was founded in 1854 in Barnard Castle, where it’s still published.
It’s independent of the large media groups. There’s a sister newspaper based in Crook: the Wear Valley Mercury.
It comes out on Wednesdays.
