Sunday Sun

The Sunday Sun is a Sunday tabloid newspaper published in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for North East England, Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.

It was founded in 1919. Despite the name, it has absolutely nothing to do with the national daily newspaper The Sun. Quite the opposite, in fact; its publishers, NCJ Media, are part of the Trinity Mirror group who publish The Sun’s biggest rival, the Daily Mirror.

It’s the sister paper of The Journal and the Evening Chronicle. It has three regional editions: in descending order of size, Tyne & North, Wear & Durham and Tees & West.
