Morpeth Herald
The Morpeth Herald is a weekly broadsheet newspaper published on Thursdays for the town of Morpeth in Northumberland and its surrounding villages.
It was founded on 1 April 1854 by tailor’s son James Mackay. Initially a monthly publication, it became a weekly four years later.
It’s published by Northeast Press Ltd, a division of Edinburgh-based Johnston Press, one of the biggest names in regional newspaper publishing in the UK.
Its sister papers in the Johnston Press website network are the News Post Leader and the Northumberland Gazette.
