Houghton Star
The Houghton Star is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in and around the Wearside town of Houghton le Spring, including nearby Hetton-le-Hole, Low Moorsley, East Rainton and West Rainton.
It’s published by Northeast Press, part of the Johnston Newspapers Northeast division of Johnston Press; they also publish the paid daily tabloid the Sunderland Echo. It forms part of a two-title group together with the Seaham Star, which is the main title in the group; the group forms part of a series of Star titles for the North-East coast of England from the mouth of the Tees to the mouth of the Tyne.

It comes out on Thursdays.
