Darlington & South Durham Herald & Post (defunct)
The Darlington & South Durham Herald & Post was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes and pick-up points in and around the town of Darlington in Co. Durham, including the neighbouring towns of Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Sedgefield, Shildon, Spennymoor and Woodham.
It was published by the Middlesbrough-based Gazette Media Company – part of Trinity Mirror’s operations for North East England – who also publish the Evening Gazette. It was one of a Herald & Post series of four weekly freesheet companions to the Gazette.
It was founded in April 2009 with the amalgamation of the former Darlington Herald & Post and the South Durham Herald & Post. At one time there were actually three titles in a South Durham Herald & Post sub-series; the third title in the series, the North Yorkshire Herald & Post, ceased publication in October 2008.
It came out on Fridays.
It ceased publication in late November 2011.
