Chronicle eXTRA – North Tyneside (defunct)
The North Tyneside Chronicle eXTRA was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the northern bank of the mouth of the River Tyne, taking in the towns of North Shields, Longbenton, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and Wallsend, as well as smaller communities in the area.
It was published by NCJ Media, part of the nationwide Trinity Mirror group, as a companion to their evening tabloid for the North East of England, the Evening Chronicle, and was one of a series of seven Chronicle eXTRA newspapers, of which only the Chronicle eXTRA – Newcastle and the Chronicle eXTRA – Gateshead now survive. It had no website of its own; the link below is to the Evening Chronicle’s website.
It came out on Wednesdays. It closed, together with the Chronicle eXTRA – South Tyneside, in July 2009.
