Woodford Recorder

The Woodford Recorder is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed mainly by brand-to-hand at the London Underground Central Line stations of South Woodford, Woodford and Snaresbrook in the London Borough of Redbridge.

It was launched in June 2009 as a sub-edition of Archant London’s paid-for weekly title the Ilford Recorder, to counter the perception of the people of the north of the borough that the Ilford Recorder wasn’t “their” paper. The shared editorial offices are in Ilford.

Although the Woodford Recorder has its own web address, the URL redirects to the Ilford Recorder‘s website.

It underwent a facelift in March 2011 to make it “brighter, busier, more relevant”.

It comes out on Thursdays. An e-edition’s also available free through the website.
