Rutland Times
The Rutland Times is a weekly tabloid newspaper published on Thursdays for the county of Rutland.
It was founded in 1977. From the outset a major plank in its editorial stance was the restoration of county status to Rutland, which it had lost in the reorganisation of local government in England and Wales in 1974 (and regained, after a fashion, when the district gained unitary authority status in 1997).
It’s published by East Midlands Newspapers, part of the Johnston Press group. Its editorial offices are in the county town, Oakham. Its JP sister papers are the Melton Times and the Rutland & Stamford Mercury.
