Rutland & Stamford Mercury
The Rutland & Stamford Mercury is a weekly tabloid newspaper published on Fridays for Stamford, Rutland and South Lincolnshire. It was established in 1695 and thus claims to be the oldest newspaper in Britain.
It’s published by East Midlands Newspapers, a division of Johnston Press. Its sister papers are the Peterborough Evening Telegraph and the Rutland Times.
It appears in three editions: one for Stamford and the Deepings, one for Rutland, and one for Bourne.
