Lincolnshire Echo
Founded in 1894, the Lincolnshire Echo is a daily tabloid newspaper for the county of Lincolnshire owned by Northcliffe Newspapers (in turn part of the Daily Mail and General Trust).
It also produces weekly digests called Target for free distribution in towns around the county, including Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Louth and Skegness, as well as in Lincoln itself.
It won the Regional Newspaper of the Year award from the Newspaper Society in 2005. The fact that it played a major part in exposing the corrupt activities of Jim Speechley, former Conservative head of Lincolnshire County Council and subsequently imprisoned for 18 months, may have had something to do with this.
There are two geographical editions (City and County, and Gainsborough) and a Sports edition.
