Grimsby Post (defunct)

The Grimsby Post was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the towns of Grimsby and Immingham and villages in the western part of the North East Lincolnshire unitary authority.

It began publication at the end of 1982 as the Grimsby Target and kept that title until May 2008. From then until July 2010 it was published as the Grimsby Life.

It was published by the Grimsby & Scunthorpe Media Group (formerly Grimsby & Scunthorpe Newspapers), part of Northcliffe Media, which was at the time the regional newspaper publishing arm of the Daily Mail & General Trust.

It was the freesheet companion to the paid-for evening tabloid newspaper the Grimsby Telegraph and shared Northcliffe’s thisisgrimsby.co.uk website with it, as did its sister weekly freesheet the Cleethorpes Post. The editorial offices of all three newspapers were in Grimsby.

Until May 2008 it was part of a series with the Scunthorpe Target.

It came out on Thursdays.

It ceased publication in mid-August 2012 and was replaced by the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Advertiser later that month.
