East Lindsey Target

The East Lindsey Target is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, including the towns of Louth, Mablethorpe, Skegness and Horncastle as well as the larger villages in the area.

It was launched at the beginning of October 2012 as the result of the merger of two earlier titles, the East Coast Target and the Louth & the Wolds Target. Both were themselves the result of mergers; before 2008 there were four Targets covering the area.

It’s published by Lincolnshire Media, formerly a subsidiary of the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper division, Northcliffe Media, but now part of the Local World group after Northcliffe was merged with Iliffe News & Media at the end of 2012 to form that new company. It’s a companion to their paid-for weekly newspaper for the county, the Lincolnshire Echo.

Initially its web presence is through Northcliffe’s thisislincolnshire.co.uk website. However, Local World decided early on that all former Northcliffe titles should have their own websites.

The editorial offices are in Louth, but moved in 2013 from Cornmarket to the Town Hall.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
