Daventry Review (defunct)

The Daventry Review was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the market town and district of Daventry in western Northamptonshire.

It was established in 2006 on being spun off from the then Rugby & Daventry Review. It was initially published by Central Counties Newspapers, which in 2010 was absorbed into another part of the Midlands division of the nationwide group of regional and local newspaper publishers, Johnston Press: Northamptonshire Newspapers.

Until August 2011 it was a companion to Johnston’s paid-for weekly title the Daventry Express, and shared that paper’s editorial offices in Daventry High Street. However, in that month it was brought into a series together with the former Rugby Review and is now a sub-edition of a new title called simply The Review. As a consequence the publication day moved from Friday to Thursday, and the editorial control moved to Rugby.

The news content was negligible; the paper was almost entirely given over to advertising.

It had no website of its own; the link below redirects to the Express‘s website.

It ceased publication in September 2012.
